The Power of One
Final issue of THE FINE PRINT Health Humanities Magazine will be May 25, 2025 | A Letter from the Editor
Dear Readers,
On May 25th, 2025, THE FINE PRINT Health Humanities Magazine will end its long publication run.
THE FINE PRINT has broken national news stories and ignited investigative reporting series in national papers of record. The stories in the magazine have also resulted in class action lawsuits in the name of Do No Harm and educated readers about Harm-for-Profit industries.
I’ve spoken to thousands of caring, compassionate people over the course of my career about how they define health, healthcare and Public Health. To anyone who has generously shared their knowledge, perspective, craft, vision, wisdom or testimony over the years in the magazine, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you to the ICU doc who texted me at 3:00a.m. to immediately inform me of that cyber attack. Thank you to the photojournalist who generously gave me an in-depth interview in between attacks from a hospital basement bunker in Ukraine. Thank you to the young photojournalists who put their cameras down to help distressed people. Thank you to the Emergency Medicine physicians who text me answers from Ubers, ER break rooms and subway cars after long shifts. Thank you to the whistleblower who met me in a diner and trusted me with her story.
Thank you to all of the sources and whistleblowers everywhere who do not fear reprisal or retribution for telling the truth.
The original editorial mission and intention of THE FINE PRINT was to honor and celebrate the power of individual agency, the power of one. All of your voices together—as contributors and readers—have achieved that.
The articles over the next two months will be dedicated to ethics, values and grace.
Thank you for reading.
To health,
Kimberly Jeanne Soenen
